The pilgrimage towards wholeness starts from a place of brokenness as pictured in this Psalm. Here, a pilgrim is setting out on a journey towards peace and healing. For ancient Israelites, this journey to peace and healing was symbolized in Jerusalem which means ‘City of Peace.’
