Meet our Pastor

Hello! My name is Dr. Anel Becker Ferreira (Pastor Anel for short). My family and I recently emigrated from South Africa and are honored to be part of the Barrhaven Fellowship Church community.

I have around ten years of experience as a congregational pastor in the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa. My education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Theology, a Master’s of Divinity (Theology), and a PhD in New Testament and Philosophy.

I’m passionate about people, relationships, and building community. I love doing church because it reflects who we are – imperfect people gathered before a perfect God. Together, we are continually drawn back to the cross and empty tomb, reminded of God’s grace and mercy.
